The TANDBERG Video Communication Server is a powerful, highly scalable platform designed to work with any H.323 or SIP device, supporting up to 2500 registrations and 200 zones. When deployed with the Control Application, VCS provides call control, gatekeeper and SIP registrar services to H.323 and SIP devices as well as H.323 to SIP Interworking. When deployed with the Expressway™ application, VCS provides standards based firewall traversal for SIP and H.323 devices.
The Video Communications Server is the center of the video network and connects all video endpoints, and infrastructure regardless of protocol. VCS is integral to interoperability with Unified Communications and Voice over IP systems. VCS brings a new paradigm of scalability and redundancy to video communications, enabling organizations to seamlessly scale video to the tens of thousands, making it an optimal solution for service providers and large enterprises. VCS supports UC and IP Telephony concepts such as presence and clustering.
